Where do your ingredients come from?

We are manufacturers of cosmetic ingredients, we control the entire production chain of our products because we have all the necessary equipment in-house to design very high quality ingredients.


At Cosmaé, we grind, extract, sieve, mix, sterilize and filter, while ensuring the quality of the products through quality analyzes certifying the compliance and safety of the ingredients at each stage of the transformation process. raw materials.

Are your products mixed?

Our ingredients are aimed at all types of beauty: male, female and also all skin types, and we offer you certified and validated recipes to accompany you well.

Are some ingredients not recommended for people (pregnant women, children under 10, diseases, etc.)?

Yes, restrictions related to an ingredient are indicated in the precautions for use of the ingredient.

How do I know if the ingredients are suitable for my skin type?

We indicate the recommended skin types in the ingredient sheets.

How to store the ingredients?

In general, the ingredients should be stored out of the reach of children, in their original closed container, away from heat and light. The storage times and specific storage conditions for certain ingredients are indicated in the storage conditions mentioned on the ingredient sheets.

Are your ingredients natural?

We prefer to tell you right away, some of our ingredients are not yet available naturally because for your little confections to last over time and be totally safe for you or your tribe, you will have to rely on chemistry to guarantee the stability, durability and safety of your formula.


Be careful, we are only talking about 8 ingredients out of more than 350 references, we are not crazy either... For the moment, no natural alternative exists, but at Cosmaé, all our R&D teams are on these subjects.

Are your ingredients certified organic?

We are committed to providing you with natural and organic ingredients. This is why, when possible, we certify our organic ingredients by Ecocert Greenlife according to the COSMOS standard, or according to Organic Agriculture (AB) certification for certain raw materials.

What if my skin reacts to an ingredient?

Who is behind the creation of Cosmaé recipes?

The entire Cosmaé team, built around chemists, biologists and trainers, is on hand to guide you, in complete safety, whether for you, your darling or your tribe. Because all our recipes have been certified and validated by an external toxicologist to guarantee you the greatest safety of use, in complete transparency.

What are the development processes for creating your recipes?

At Cosmaé, we have a team of formulation and regulatory experts. Thus, when we develop our recipes, we rely on our marketing, R&D and regulatory team to develop application formulas on the bench according to very precise specifications.


Once the formula suits us, we proceed to various tests measuring the safety, effectiveness, compliance and conservation of our finished product. Thus, all our recipes are validated and certified by an expert toxicologist. This is why, on each of the recipe sheets, we provide you with a manufacturing and traceability sheet in order to guarantee you the greatest possible security.

Who are your recipes for?

Cosmaé's recipes are intended for all those who wish to regain control over their consumption, by making their own natural cosmetics. Whether you are an expert or rather an apprentice chemist, it is not necessarily rocket science if you are well accompanied.

How long can I use my crafted cosmetics?

It is essential to clearly annotate the following information on your cosmetic recipe:
- Date the recipe was made
- Weighings or dosages of each ingredient
- Batch number of ingredients (see on the packaging) + photos
- Mixing time
- Temperature of ingredients and/or mixture

The expiry date of your production must be indicated on the downloadable label in each recipe card and stuck on your preparation in order to scrupulously respect this date.

Can I replace one ingredient in the recipe with another?

Cosmaé recipes are evaluated by an expert toxicologist to validate their safety by taking into account the composition, the origin of the ingredients, the process, the results of the tests, the instructions for use of the recipe... Thus, the safety of the recipe can no longer be guaranteed in the event of a change in composition or manufacturing process...

How do I change my delivery address?

Do you test on animals?

At Cosmaé, we are committed to complying with regulations. Thus, we do not practice or sponsor any animal testing for our ingredients, products or recipes in accordance with regulation 1223/2009 in force.

Are your ingredients vegan?

Several standards exist for Vegan certification. Currently we have not undertaken Vegan certification. However, our ingredients are of natural origin: vegetable, mineral or marine. Only our beeswax is considered an ingredient of animal origin.

What are your concrete actions for the environment?

Preserving our environment matters to us and this is also the reason that drives us to offer you cosmetic ingredients in order to move towards a zero-waste and slowcosmetic dynamic. Also, we are keen to biosource our ingredients in order to revalorize co-products and give them a second life in cosmetic use.


In addition, we value the circular economy and make sure to work with local producers when possible.


We also act on the carbon impact of our packages by using lyocell scraps, which were used to manufacture our dry masks, in order to wedge your products in the packages. We thus recycle our “industrial waste”. In addition, these lyocell scraps will undoubtedly allow you to make small wipes or eye patches that you could impregnate with a homemade serum.

Do you recycle your ingredient packaging?

Cosmaé does its utmost to avoid packaging. We recycle shipping boxes. The wedging of our packages is made with lyocell mask scraps. Packaging is limited to kraft bags as soon as possible. A network of bulk retailers is being developed to move towards zero waste.
